Implementation of New Ethical Guidelines and Manuscript Template Updates

Dear Authors, Editors, and Reviewers,

To enhance the academic integrity and global recognition of KAMASEAN: Jurnal Teologi Kristen, the Editorial Board has officially updated our policies regarding research ethics and manuscript formatting.

Effective from Volume 7, Number 1 (June 2026), all submissions must adhere to the following updates:

1. Mandatory Ethical Clearance Reporting

Every manuscript based on research involving human subjects (e.g., interviews, congregational studies, fieldwork, or surveys) must include an Ethical Clearance reference number. This number must be issued by a recognized institutional body, such as an Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM), a church synod, or a non-governmental organization.

2. Provision of Ethical Clearance Model

To assist authors, the journal now provides a downloadable "Ethical Clearance Model" on our website. Authors may use this template to facilitate the issuance of an official clearance from their respective institutions.

3. Updated Manuscript Template

The manuscript template has been refined, particularly in the sections for Acknowledgments, Funding, Conflicts of Interest, Author Contributions, and Ethical Approval and Consent. Authors are required to use the latest version of the template to ensure consistency in reporting ethical compliance and participant consent. For studies relying solely on literature or biblical exegesis, a specific waiver statement has also been provided in the template.

4. Implementation Policy

  • New Submissions: All manuscripts submitted for Vol. 7 No. 1 and onwards must use the new format.

  • Editor & Reviewer Role: Editors are instructed to verify the inclusion of Ethical Clearance details during the initial screening and peer-review process.

We believe these updates will significantly strengthen the scientific value and ethical accountability of the research published in KAMASEAN. The new templates and guidelines are available for download under the Author Guidelines section or here: Journal Template.

Dalam upaya meningkatkan integritas akademik dan reputasi internasional KAMASEAN: Jurnal Teologi Kristen, Dewan Redaksi secara resmi memperbarui kebijakan mengenai etika penelitian dan format naskah.

Terhitung mulai penerbitan Volume 7, Nomor 1 (Juni 2026), seluruh naskah yang masuk wajib mengikuti ketentuan berikut:

1. Kewajiban Mencantumkan Kelaikan Etik (Ethical Clearance)

Setiap naskah yang berbasis penelitian dengan subjek manusia (seperti wawancara, studi jemaat, studi lapangan, atau survei) wajib mencantumkan nomor surat Ethical Clearance. Nomor ini harus dikeluarkan oleh lembaga resmi yang berwenang, seperti Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (LPPM), Sinode Gereja, atau organisasi non-pemerintah.

2. Penyediaan Model Ethical Clearance

Untuk membantu para penulis, jurnal kini menyediakan dokumen "Ethical Clearance Model" yang dapat diunduh dari situs resmi kami. Penulis dapat menggunakan draf ini untuk mempermudah pengurusan izin resmi di instansi masing-masing.

3. Pembaruan Template Naskah

Template naskah telah disempurnakan, terutama pada bagian Ucapan Terima Kasih (Acknowledgments), Pendanaan (Funding), Konflik Kepentingan (Conflicts of Interest), Kontribusi Penulis (Author Contributions), serta Persetujuan Etika dan Partisipan (Ethical Approval and Consent). Penulis diwajibkan menggunakan versi template terbaru untuk memastikan konsistensi dalam pelaporan kepatuhan etika dan persetujuan partisipan. Bagi penelitian yang sepenuhnya berbasis literatur atau eksegesis biblika, pernyataan pengecualian khusus juga telah disediakan di dalam template tersebut.

4. Kebijakan Implementasi

  • Naskah Baru: Semua naskah yang dikirimkan untuk Vol. 7 No. 1 dan seterusnya wajib menggunakan format baru.

  • Peran Editor & Reviewer: Editor diinstruksikan untuk memverifikasi kelengkapan detail Ethical Clearance selama proses screening awal dan peninjauan sejawat.

Kami percaya bahwa pembaruan ini akan memperkuat nilai ilmiah dan akuntabilitas etis dari riset yang diterbitkan di KAMASEAN. Template dan pedoman baru tersedia untuk diunduh pada bagian Author Guidelines atau di sini: Journal Template.
